Where Architects Live

Posted on Under Art and Design

8 architects, 8 cities, 8 homes, 1 exhibition: Where Architects Live is a diary of explorations into the private spaces of eight of the world’s leading architects including: Zaha Hadid (London), Daniel Libeskind (NYC), David Chipperfield (Berlin), Shigeru Ban (Tokyo),  Marcio Kogan (Sao Paulo), Mario Bellini (Milan), Bijoy Jain (Mumbai), Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas (Paris).

This exhibition offers a rare glimpse into the often unknown private spaces of architects whose work is normally experienced only through what they produce for others.  Where Architects Live reveals whether the architects’ own habitats are recognisable reflections of each of their own distinctive styles or entirely unexpected one-offs.

Originally staged at Milan’s international furniture design fair, Salone del Mobile as “Dove Vivono gli Architetti”, this exhibition has been rescaled into a tourable format due to the public and critical acclaim it received by allowing visitors to experience the architects’ own concepts of the domestic space. Available in either a 500m2 or 1000m2 format.
